Introduction:

Let me introduce myself: I am a photographer. An amateur photographer. I've been taking photos for about 7 years now, and I have done everything from weddings to parties, to senior portraits, and now, I'm proud to add "action sports" to my portfolio. Photography is my passion, and I love taking pictures. I hope that one day I can call my camera my 'career', but in the meantime, I'm enjoying learning and growing in my skill-set.

My brother is a freestyle scooter rider, and for the past 2 1/2 years or so, I have watched him grow and progress as a rider. During that time, I have taken his picture (about a million and ten times), and learned a lot about the sport and community of Scootering and the "Skate World" as a whole. It's an interesting thing, being able to enter into this subculture of Scootering...yet still having the ability to be a sort of fly on the wall, and just observe, to stay hidden behind my lens.

I decided to make this blog because I recently realized that over the 2 1/2 years I have been taking pictures of my brother, I have also been taking pictures of others, as well. I have somehow managed to collect an amassed library of faces. Some of them I know, some of them I have no idea who they are! But each face has a story, and each faces rides. Some rides scooters, some used to ride scooters, some don't ride scooters, and some are the very best, the cream of the crop, at scooters.

A little disclosure:
I'm sorry if I don't know your name, if you see yourself, please tell me, I would love to put a name to a face. I'm sorry if you see yourself and you don't like the photo, I'm not trying to embarrass anyone or post your photo "without your permission". If you see your photo and would like me to take it down, please tell me and I will do so. I'm still working out how exactly to run this blog, so bear with me on the technicalities, if you please. I'm not trying to 'show off' or 'get photo credz', I just want to share my pictures, and share a story. What's the story? I don't always know! But that's the beauty of it. Everyone has their own story, and through the stillness of photography we are free to create it on our own.

I promise to keep my following posts less wordy!

So now, after all that, it seems only natural that my first 'face' is of my brother:
